Located in Gigante-Huila, Colombia Finca La Esperanza is run by 33year old Deiby Sanchez. Sitting at around 1700m elevation it consists of 2.5 hectares planted 100% with Caturra.
Deiby experiments a little like a mad scientist, but so far with fantastic results.
This lot is a compilation of the best of all of his experiments and he plans to follow and replicate this "recipe" in coming harvests. The coffee, once washed, is then slow dried for 20-40 days in a parabolic dryer that he built himself out of bamboo (interestingly it looks like a natural version of the famous Centre Pompidou in Paris).
Deiby and his brothers inherited the 6Ha farm from their father 5 years ago. The brothers are not interested in coffee, so with the increased income from his high quality coffee
Deiby hopes to purchase the remainder of the farm from his brothers next year.
